Ron Blessinger
Violin
A native of Hermiston, Ore., Ron Blessinger has been a member of the first violin section for 13 years. He has performed numerous times as soloist with the Oregon Symphony and Cascade Festival, where he is also concertmaster.
In the summer of 2004, Blessinger will perform the Prokofiev D Major Concerto with the Clark College orchestra, the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Cascade Festival Orchestra, and the Glazunov Concerto with the Oregon East Symphony.
In addition, Blessinger is Artistic Director of the Third Angle Ensemble, an internationally renowned new music group based in Portland. Third Angle has released numerous recordings on Koch International Classics, Gagliano Records and Arabesque. The ensemble has also been featured on NPR's Performance Today.
Blessinger is most proud of his family: his wife, Ann, “who is the hardest working person I know,” and their children, Daniel, 7, and Erinn, 5, who “are the joy of our lives."
