Oregon Symphony Musician Bio
Born in Missoula, Montana, Jeffrey Johnson earned his B.M. from the University of Montana and his M.M. from the Eastman School of Music, and also studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Aspen Music Festival.
Before joining the Oregon Symphony, Jeffrey was principal bass of the San Antonio Symphony. He has played in numerous summer festivals, including the Colorado Music Festival, the Round Top Festival, the Chautauqua Festival, and Oregon’s Sunriver and Cascade Head music festivals.
Currently an adjunct instructor at Portland State University, Jeffrey has previously taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio College, and the Community Music Center in Portland.
