Gayle Budd O’Grady
Gayle has been a member of the Oregon Symphony since 1976. Prior to her engagement in Portland, she was employed by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
Over the decades, Gayle has performed with many Oregon-based ensembles, including the orchestras of the Portland Opera, Oregon Ballet Theatre, the Portland Chamber Orchestra and the West Coast Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Gayle was a former member of the Aurora String Trio and the HTR Piano Trio with the late violinist Cline Otey, and currently plays with both the Tapestry and Raphael Spiro String Quartets.
In addition to performance, Gayle teaches cello to students of all ages in her private studio. A student of Ira Lehn and Gabor Rejto in Santa Barbara, Gayle earned her B.M. in performance from the University of Southern California, where she continued her studies with Rejto.
