OREGON SYMPHONY SET TO PERFORM
AT THE OREGON ZOO


(PORTLAND, Ore.) – The Oregon Symphony’s first performance of its 2017/18 Season will occur with its first-ever performance at the Oregon Zoo on September 2, a fitting start to a season entitled “A New Dimension.” An expected audience of nearly four thousand people will enjoy the outdoor surroundings and the evening air performance conducted by Music Director Carlos Kalmar.

(Rain date: 7 pm, Tuesday, September 5)

The two-hour program will feature blockbuster selections of familiar, crowd-pleasing classical works, with one intermission. The evening’s performance will come to an exciting conclusion with Tchaikovsky’s rousing 1812 Overture.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 am, Friday, June 30 at zooconcerts.com.

Reserved Seating: $65
Premium Reserved Seating: $75

This Oregon Zoo concert will be performed in place of the annual Waterfront Concert. The Waterfront Concert has been historically supported by funding from the City of Portland. This year, due to demands on the city budget, funding was not available.
