Production Manager
Join the Oregon Symphony Team as our Production Manager!
Are you passionate about creating extraordinary live music experiences? The Oregon Symphony is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Manager to ensure seamless execution of production elements for our performances. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional concerts, from our pops and film series to non-orchestra presentations and collaborations with renowned artists.
Here’s how you’ll contribute to our mission:
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate production needs for assigned concerts, including sound, lighting, projection systems, backline, and instruments.
- Arrange performer logistics, including dressing rooms, amenities, itineraries, transportation, and parking.
- Supervise the Front of House Manager and collaborate with venue management to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and manage production budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to maintain and communicate the Orchestra Schedule of Services.
- Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) for musicians and stagehands.
- Support the Education and Community Engagement team with off-site events and special projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of concert production experience, preferably with professional musicians and orchestras.
- Strong knowledge of production elements, including sound, lighting, and technical riders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Acrobat, VISIO, and OPAS.
- Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Status & Work Environment:
This is a full-time, exempt position that requires regular onsite presence at venues and office-based days. Some remote work opportunities may be available. The role involves physical activity, including navigating tight quarters, responding to artist needs, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.

Assistant Conductor
Join the Oregon Symphony as our Assistant Conductor!
Are you an emerging conductor with a passion for artistic leadership, education, and community engagement? The Oregon Symphony is seeking an Assistant Conductor to support our Music Director’s artistic vision and contribute to the Symphony’s performances and programs. This vital role provides musical leadership in rehearsals and concerts while actively engaging with audiences, students, and stakeholders to expand the Symphony’s impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting Responsibilities:
- Serve as cover/assistant conductor for all Classical Series and Classical Specials.
- Lead rehearsals and performances for assigned concerts, including Youth, Family, Film, Pops, and community engagement concerts.
- Collaborate with Artistic Planning and Education teams to develop programming for diverse audiences.
Community & Artistic Engagement:
- Represent the Symphony in education and community engagement activities, working with students, educators, and donors.
- Support communications, marketing, and fundraising efforts.
- Assist with reviewing new scores, recordings, and artistic programming.
This is a full-time, salaried position for a three-year term commencing August 2025 (in the 2025-26 season).

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, with professional orchestral conducting experience. Experience conducting film scores is highly desirable.
- Strong score reading and baton technique, deep knowledge of orchestral and popular music, and excellent aural skills.
- Strong public speaking abilities, adaptability, and collaboration skills to work effectively with musicians, staff, and audiences.
- Must reside in the Portland metro area, work evenings and weekends as needed, and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Patron Services Representative

As a front-line ambassador for the Oregon Symphony, you’ll play a vital role in generating revenue through outbound sales and fundraising campaigns, all while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This part-time position (20-29 hrs/week) offers a hybrid remote work model and an opportunity to contribute directly to the success of a world-class arts organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound calls to sell subscriptions, single tickets, and memberships, utilizing provided equipment and leads.
- Support sales campaigns and fundraising efforts to meet organizational goals.
- Engage with patrons to provide detailed event information and deliver exceptional service.
- Participate in team operations, including daily meetings and new hire training.
- Assist with ticket office operations during peak periods and attend at least two concerts or ticket office shifts per month.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; 1–2 years of sales experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and sales skills with exceptional communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Tessitura database software (training provided) and Microsoft Outlook.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Status & Work Environment:
This is a hybrid remote position with occasional in-office and concert hall shifts. Call Center Hours are Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM. Minimum weekly hours: 20 (maximum: 29.75), with additional hours available during peak times upon approval.
