Join the Oregon Symphony Team as our Director of Marketing!
Are you a strategic marketing leader passionate about building audiences, driving revenue, and telling compelling stories through integrated campaigns? The Oregon Symphony is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing to help shape our public presence and deepen our connection with the community.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead core elements of our marketing and sales strategy, support a high-performing team, and collaborate across departments to achieve our artistic and financial goals.

Here’s how you’ll contribute to our mission:

Strategic Marketing Leadership:

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that drive ticket sales, foster audience growth, and elevate brand awareness.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of digital, traditional, and grassroots campaigns aligned with revenue and engagement goals.
  • Lead the development of content strategies that tell the Symphony’s story and connect with diverse audiences.

Media, Advertising & Digital Engagement:

  • Create and manage media plans across print, digital, TV, radio, and outdoor platforms.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate media buys to ensure strong ROI.
  • Provide strategic oversight for social media, email marketing, website content, and digital advertising efforts.
  • Oversee the use of CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Prospect 2 and Braze for email and SMS outreach, ensuring effective implementation and adoption of evolving technologies.

Audience Insights & Market Research:

  • Use data and analytics tools to monitor sales trends and evaluate campaign performance.
  • Conduct audience research and A/B testing to inform segmentation strategies and identify growth opportunities.

Team Leadership & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the marketing team to meet departmental goals.
  • Collaborate across the organization—including with Development, Artistic, Education, and Executive teams—to align strategies and messaging.
  • Serve as a visible leader within the community and represent the Symphony at concerts and events.

Budget & Operations:

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, revenue projections, and expense tracking.
  • Lead ROI analysis of campaigns and make data-informed adjustments to optimize results.
  • Contribute to long-range planning and innovative initiatives, including audience loyalty programs and community partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in the performing arts or nonprofit sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven success in campaign strategy, team management, and audience development.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and marketing analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with CRM systems (Tessitura preferred) and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong digital acumen and comfort working with platforms like Prospect 2 and Braze; openness to pursuing new certifications as technologies evolve.

Development Associate

Join the Oregon Symphony Team as a Development Associate!

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for accuracy, systems, and supporting meaningful work behind the scenes? Oregon Symphony seeks a dedicated and resourceful Development Associate to support the operational foundation of our fundraising efforts. This vital role manages gift processing, maintains donor records, and provides essential administrative support to the Development team, helping ensure the Symphony’s mission is powered by strong, effective fundraising systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and track gifts and pledges across all giving channels and ensure timely and accurate acknowledgements. Coordinate with Finance on deposits and manage ticket office donations with the Ticket Office Manager. Maintain donor records and ensure data integrity in Tessitura and other platforms. Generate standard reports and respond to routine and ad-hoc data requests.Support internal team logistics, provide administrative assistance, and help with departmental events.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 1+ years of relevant experience, with a basic understanding of fundraising and database systems preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Tessitura, Greater Giving, Donate2, or Adobe Pro a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Patron Services Representative, Ticket Office

Your responsibilities will span across customer service, sales, and operational support, making you a vital part of our mission to bring music to life.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the Symphony season.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Status & Work Environment:
This is a full-time, 35-hour per week position that follows a hybrid remote work model. Patron Service Representatives work 1-2 onsite concerts and 2-3 remote shifts per week, depending on business needs.
